July 4 Bake Sale 2018

The Thrivent Financial Action team is asking for volunteers to bake boxed items for their booth at Freedom Has a Birthday on Wednesday, July 4. Donations of baked goods or money are also welcome. All proceeds will go to benefit Interfaith Good Samaritan and Laramie Soup Kitchen.

Ladies’ Luncheon

Monday, June 18, 2018 12 pm “The Room” Ladies of the congregation and their friends are invited to attend. Arrive when you are able and leave for work or appointments as needed. Bring a main dish, salad, or other dish to share. If you don’t have time to prepare something, still come! Please contact the church office if you need a ride. It’s a wonderful time for food, fellowship, and fun!  

Men’s Retreat

Wyoming District Men’s Retreat July 20-22, 2018 KOA, Buffalo, Wyoming Presenter: Rev. Jeffrey Hemmer, author, Man Up! The Quest for Masculinity Registration: $50 for adults, $25 for children Reservations: Block reserved until June 4. Contact KOA to reserve a tent or RV site. 800-562-1902. Mention Rev. Gerald Heinecke and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church when you make reservations. Camping slots fill fast; hotels available nearby. Schedule: Arrive Friday afternoon with choice of meat to grill and dish to share for dinner. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday. Divine Service at Spring Wind

June 13, 2018 10:00 a.m. Bistro, Spring Wind Assisted Living Zion members, friends, and family are encouraged to attend and visit Zion members who reside at Spring Wind. Pastor Debowey will lead the service. Note that services have been moved to the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month and that the location has changed to the Bistro at Spring Wind.

Interfaith Good Samaritan drive

Items needed Drop off at Interfaith Good Samaritan 710 E. Garfield Canned protein (chicken, beef, tuna, Spam) Powdered milk or shelf stable boxed milk “Easy” dinners: canned ravioli, Hamburger Helper, microwaveable meals, etc. Canned soups, beans, fruits Non-food items: size 4, 5, 6 diapers; razors, deodorants, toothbrushes, toilet paper, baby wipes Toiletries collected from travels Peanut or other nut butter, jellies or jams A detailed list is available in the church office.

Baby Bottle Campaign 2018

Heart to Heart Annual Baby Bottle Campaign January 21 to March 18, 2018 Pick up a bottle in the narthex at Zion through March 18 Fill your bottle with spare change, cash, or checks made out to Heart to Heart, or give online Return filled bottles to Zion or take them to Heart to Heart’s office by March 18 Checks and online donations for $30 or more will be entered in a drawing for a beautiful handmade quilt (checks must include your name and address for entry).
